Bed and breakfast between Arras and Béthune
The “Les sables de la Fontaine” guest rooms, with the Gîtes de France 3 épis label, are nestled in the heart of a protected natural area in the rural part of Annequin (known as “le bas d’Annequin”). They consist of 3 independent rooms housed in a reconstructed wooden farmhouse, one of which is suitable for all types of disability (Tourisme et Handicap label).
Located 8km from Béthune, 10km from the Louvre-Lens and 30 minutes from Lille, Annequin is part of the UNESCO World Heritage site for its mining past.
Also elected AmBBassadeurs (“BB” to our friends) by the Béthune-Bruay tourist office, we invite you to discover the activities and other sporting, cultural and festive events in the area.
The peaceful surroundings are ideal for rest and relaxation, but also for discovery, with to the proximity of the local ponds, where you can discover the ever-changing natural environment or go fishing for most of the year.
Also located close to the front line of the First World War, the rooms are part of the “Northern France Battlefields Partner” network linked to the town’s history in the Great War and remembrance tourism.
Breakfast, made with home-grown products, is served either on the communal veranda or on the large outdoor wooden terrace, weather permitting.
A kitchenette with sink, fridge and microwave is available to our guests. We also have a cot and high chair for babies.
As a member of the Accueil Vélo network, we have enclosed grounds and parking, and a covered area under which several bikes or motorbikes can be parked.
Why “Les sables de la Fontaine”?
The “Sables de la Fontaine” rooms were given this name because they are located in Rue Fontaine, and because the owner is passionate about palaeontology. This is the study of fossils, in this case shells, found mainly in sand. You can also discover the collection on request.
